      October 2024 Newsletter   The Memoir and Creative Writers Group is hosting Gerard Bianco at Buxton Town Hall on Saturday, October 5 from 2-4pm. This is a free program, and refreshments will be provided. He is an award-winning Maine artist, author, teacher and lecturer.

This is a free program, and refreshments will be provided. Gerard Bianco is an award-winning Maine artist, author, teacher and lecturer. His latest book, Marlee, takes place in Maine and contains thirteen of his unique illustrations. You can learn more about his work at https://gerardbianco.com/. Join me for Story Time on Tuesday mornings from 10:30-11am. Listen to a story, sing some songs, enjoy some felt board fun, and participate in a craft. Stuffies usually make an appearance! Are you a crafting enthusiast? Join us for our Crafters Group from 1-3pm on Sunday, October 6 (to be determined) and Sunday, October 20. It’s the perfect opportunity to connect, share ideas, and work on a craft project. This group is drop-in and meets the first and third Sunday of every month.   If you would like to craft at another day and time other than Sunday, join me on Thursday, October 17. “Bring-Your-Own-Craft” Night is the third Thursday of the month from 6:30-7:30pm. Try a challenge or free build from 1-3pm during Lego Club on Sunday, October 13 and Sunday, October 27. All ages are welcome. His paintings and illustrations hang in many corporate and private collections throughout the United States. His books can be found on Amazon. His short stories have appeared in various literary journals and his lessons, exercises and advice on the art and craft of creative fiction have appeared on the web and in the book, Now Write! Mysteries: Mystery Fiction Exercises From Today’s Best Writers and Teachers. His latest book, Marlee, takes place in Maine and contains thirteen of his unique illustrations. He lives in Maine. Description automatically generated   LEGO Club meets the second and fourth Sunday of every month from 1-3pm. Drop-ins are welcome.   Sunday, October 13 Sunday, October 27 Take one of our LEGO challenges, make a design from “The LEGO Ideas Book,” or create your own design. All LEGO creations stay at the library so there will be plenty of bricks for the next event. Caroline will display any creations on the windowsill next to the makerspace table until the next LEGO Club. Monthly Calendar of Events
