      May 2024 Newsletter   One Book, One Community is a joint program with the Berry Memorial Library to help the community relate to each other through reading!   Read the book “Horse” in sections and enter to win a gift card to Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens!
        Upcoming Events Story Time May 7, May 14, May 21, May 28 10:30-11am Memoir Writing Workshop on Zoom May 8 6:30-8:30pm “Bring-Your-Own-Craft” Night May 16 6:30-7:30pm Crafters Group May 5, May 19 1-3pm (drop-in anytime) LEGO Club May 12, May 26 1-3pm (drop-in anytime)   Chat with Caroline Dear Wonderful Patrons, Our two town libraries – West Buxton Public Library and Berry Memorial Library – are hosting “One Book, One Community,” a community reading event. Check out a copy of Horse at either library. Read the book in 6 sections (1 section per month), answer the second set of discussion questions this month (chapters 10-18; pages 75-145), and write reviews for entries into a drawing for a gift card to Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. See “Stay Tuned…” for the two discussion questions you can answer at the library or via email for an entry into the drawing. Join me for Story Time on Tuesday mornings from 10:30-11am. Listen to a story, sing some songs, enjoy some felt board fun, and participate in a craft. Stuffies usually make an appearance! If you have thought about writing your memoir, join Lorraine Lindstedt at the Memoir Writing Workshop via Zoom from 6:30-8:30pm on Wednesday, May 8. This group meets on the second Wednesday of the month usually via Zoom. Are you a crafting enthusiast? Join us for our Crafters Group on Sunday, May 5 and Sunday, May 19 from 1-3pm. It’s the perfect opportunity to connect, share ideas, and work on a craft project. This group is drop-in and meets the first and third Sunday of every month.   If you would like to craft at another day and time other than Sunday, join me for “Bring-your-own-craft” night on Thursday, May 16 from 6:30-7:30pm. “Bring-your-own-craft” night is a monthly program on the third Thursday of the month. Try a challenge or free build during Lego Club on Sunday, May 12 and Sunday, May 26. All ages are welcome. This group is drop-in and meets the second and fourth Sunday of every month. Upcoming Events   Join Caroline for a story, songs, felt board, and a craft.   Wednesday, May 8, 2024 Via Zoom 6:30-8:30pm   Writing prompt: Forgiveness, how it made me feel. Or: I couldn’t believe I/he/she said that!   Read a memoir, tell us what you learned. Attend one or more workshops as desired. No experience needed. Spelling doesn’t count. No obligation to share unless you want to. Description automatically generated   LEGO Club meets the second and fourth Sunday of every month from 1-3pm.   This month, LEGO Club is on May 12 and May 26.   Drop-ins are welcome.   Take one of our LEGO challenges, make a design from “The LEGO Ideas Book,” or create your own design.   All LEGO creations stay at the library so there will be plenty of bricks for the next event. Caroline will display any creations on the windowsill next to the makerspace table until the next event. Monthly Calendar of Events
