The West Buxton Public Library is holding a quilt raffle until Sunday, December 22, featuring a gorgeous handmade quilt crafted by one of our talented board members! Tickets are just $5 each (or 5 for $20), and all proceeds support the library – don’t miss your chance to win this cozy treasure for yourself or someone special. Join me for Story Time on Tuesday mornings from 10:30-11am. Listen to a story, sing some songs, enjoy some felt board fun, and participate in a craft. Stuffies usually make an appearance! The Memoir Writing Workshop for adults now includes creative writing! If you are a creative writer, feel free to join Lorraine Lindstedt and the rest of the group via Zoom from 6:30-8:30pm on Wednesday, January 8 and January 22, 2025. (There is no meeting this month). This group meets on the second Wednesday of the month usually via Zoom. Are you a crafting enthusiast? Join us for our Crafters Group from 1-3pm on Sunday, December 1 and Sunday, December 15. It’s the perfect opportunity to connect, share ideas, and work on a craft project. This group is drop-in and meets the first and third Sunday of every month. Try a challenge or free build from 1-3pm during Lego Club on Sunday, December 8 and Sunday, December 22. All ages are welcome. Description automatically generated   No meeting in December   Wednesday, January 8, 2024 6:30-8:30pm   Wednesday, January 22, 2024 6:30-8:30pm What writing skills would you like to explore and/or share? Have you ever watched ARC Maine, 23.1 Fox TV, weekdays 9AM-11AM? This is a continuation of Channel 13 News featuring Maine stories of interest. Would you like to be part of a program that highlights our writing group?  We have approval from Narragansett Number One Foundation to go forward with this for publicity. Some ideas: how we got started and guest authors and what they shared. Writers in our group, here’s your opportunity to talk about your work.

Description automatically generated   LEGO Club meets the second and fourth Sunday of every month from 1-3pm. Drop-ins are welcome.   Sunday, December 8 Sunday, December 22 Take one of our LEGO challenges, make a design from “The LEGO Ideas Book,” or create your own design. All LEGO creations stay at the library so there will be plenty of bricks for the next event. Caroline will display any creations on the windowsill next to the makerspace table until the next LEGO Club. Recent Highlights Lego Club participants were up for the following challenge: “The local bank keeps getting robbed. Build a safe that no one can crack.”       This safe has a self-destruct. If someone does get in, there’s a trip wire and a cannon inside. There’s a truck that can catch people on the right. “This safe has a steel reincored with diamond floor and ceiling. The trash can outside is a decoy, and the octopus on the tower catches people.” Monthly Calendar of Events
