If you’re willing to lend a hand with raking leaves, picking up sticks, or tidying up the flower beds, we’d love your help! Stop by or contact the library if you’re interested in pitching in. The Memoir and Creative Writers Group is hosting Sue Cassidy and Melody Norris at Buxton Town Hall on Thursday, May 15 from 5-7pm. Sue will share her journey from her first writing prompt to the publication of her soon-to-be-released children’s book, Ladybugs and Ellie Go Camping: Campfire Tales and Trails. She’ll discuss the confidence she gained through a supportive writer’s group and the steps to making her book a reality. Melody ML Norris, author, designer, and owner of Black Cat Studios, will present Judging a Book by Its Cover, exploring the art of creating eye-catching book designs. This is a free program, and refreshments will be provided. Join me for Story Time on Tuesday mornings from 10:30-11am. Listen to a story, sing some songs, enjoy some felt board fun, and participate in a craft. Stuffies usually make an appearance! Are you a crafting enthusiast? Join us for our Crafter’s Group on Sunday, April 6 and Sunday, April 20 from 1-3pm. It’s the perfect opportunity to connect, share ideas, and work on a craft project. This group meets the first and third Sunday of the month. Try a challenge or free build during Lego Club, which meets the second and fourth Sunday of the month from 1-3pm. Lego Club will be on Sunday, April 13 and Sunday, April 27. All ages are welcome. Continue reading to hear the latest news and events from the West Buxton Public Library.   🌷Spring Clean-Up Volunteers Needed! 🌿     Help Us Give the Library a Fresh Start for Spring!   The West Buxton Public Library is looking for friendly faces to help spruce up the outdoor space in front of the library — and we need you!   What We’re Hoping You Can Help With: Raking leaves 🍂 Picking up fallen sticks and debris 🌳 Cleaning out and prepping flower beds for the season 🌸 Whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours, every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated. This is a wonderful way to give back to your community, get a little fresh air, and help the library look its best heading into the warmer months.   Interested?

Description automatically generated   LEGO Club meets the second and fourth Sunday of every month from 1-3pm. Drop-ins are welcome.   Sunday, April 13 Sunday, April 27 Drop-in 1-3pm Take one of our LEGO challenges, make a design from “The LEGO Ideas Book,” or create your own design. All LEGO creations stay at the library so there will be plenty of bricks for the next event. Caroline will display any creations on the windowsill next to the makerspace table until the next LEGO Club. Recent Highlights         A family enjoyed designing at the makerspace.
